TutorTies has developed a swipe-to-match mobile application that connects college students with tutors who have common subjects, classes, and even professors. Profiles include detailed specifications and feature pictures, transcripts, and resumes of the tutors. The software and algorithm used by TutorTies ensure that students and tutors are matched based on their profile commonalities. Matches occur when both parties swipe right on each other. Once matched, a chat room is created, sessions are scheduled and confirmed, and payment is initiated.

TutorTies stands out among other tutoring services by allowing tutors to actively engage in the student search process. It enables students to establish connections with their peers based on multiple commonalities. Additionally, TutorTies expedites the process of scheduling a tutor through quick and convenient push notifications.
